Quick update for the morning crowd: bought a Quickjack system, set it up last night, I think this video is hilarious and you should too.

I had the same feeling after I got the wheels back on the 250 after it got a whole new suspension all the way around and I butchered my front bumper and fender wells, took it for a drive and nothing exploded.

Oh man that was my feeling after my first brake job. Back out of the garage, no instant death, ok I might have made this work.

Oh I did 2 calipers. Ssslllooowwwlllyyy backed down the driveway. Bleeding wasn’t so easy might I mention. Took it around the neighborhood and there was definitely a bubble that needed to work it’s way out. First 1/8th of the pedal was push through then grip. 6 brake pumps later and she was happy.

This post has been rated R. Too scary.

I haven't taken it on the highway yet considering it has new suspension, new wheels and tires, alignment x2, new brakes - I still need to log into the abs module and change the revolutions per mile calibration. Oh and align the headlights.

haha can you tow it to an airfield or something to be safe?

Drive it through my neighborhood to test it all copy.

Yeah why not, that’s what I do...

Whoa, I didn't know these were a thing. I might get one of those!

I was wondering what that was! Is it meant to function as a lift, letting you get under and working on the car, or just as a jack, where you can do tire and brake and suspension stuff but it’s not safe to get under there for a long time?

I want a quickjack now!

Yes to the lift. It locks at 2 heights and then in held by gravity rather than hydraulic pressure. B you can keep a vehicle jacked up forever at those heights and it’s very sturdy. A more top-heavy vehicle might see some wobble if you try hard enough since they aren't braced laterally, but I don't think any worse than jack stands.

I really thought they were like $2500-$5000 but I got mine for $1300 shipped. Not cheap but given how often I've been going on stands and helping others, this was a no-brainer.

Get it!

Well that’s awesome. And it won’t mess up your checkered floor?

Nice. Highly recommended?

I’m pretty sure it spreads the weight out well, plus I’ve seen a ton of these on the same flooring on instagram so that’
s fine right?

Well I’ve only done 2 lifts to test it once I put it together, but it seems pretty awesome and I’ll check back after some real car work this weekend. I can’t imagine it won’t be as great as it seems though.
